Specify the milled features
Plastic milling services should be scoped from the part geometry and resin grade. Identify pockets, slots, profiles, holes and edges to be milled, and show how they relate to assembly datums. Provide the manufacturer and exact material designation rather than relying on a generic plastic family.
Call out edge and fit expectations
Mark burr or edge-break requirements, thread details, mating faces and dimensions that control fit. State the required finish or appearance and any areas to protect. If the part has thin sections or features that can move during inspection, identify the acceptance method and support condition for review.
Keep the quote tied to the drawing
Submit the current model and drawing revision, material, quantity, inspection scope and any post-machining operation. Include packaging and approved substitutions. Confirm that the final measurement method matches the size and geometry of the plastic part.
