Name the titanium grade and condition
Titanium aerospace parts should be specified by the exact alloy, condition and applicable material requirements in the approved design package. A broad titanium label is not enough for a quote or acceptance decision. Identify the source documents and traceability records required for the program.
Define the part and manufacturing scope
Provide a controlled model and drawing with quantity, datums, interfaces, critical dimensions and surface requirements. Ask the supplier to review the proposed machining route and confirm which operations are available for the specific geometry. Identify outside processes and their record requirements.
- Specify alloy and material condition.
- Passende CAD- und Zeichnungsrevision bereitstellen.
- Mark critical features and inspection criteria.
- List material and lot documentation required.
- Confirm site, outside processes and customer approvals.
Do not infer aerospace approval from material
Using titanium does not establish that a part is flight-approved or that a supplier is certified. Verify the actual site, scope, current certificates and program approvals separately. The design authority controls material suitability and final release.
For supplier review, see Luft- und Raumfahrt-Bearbeitungsunternehmen. For dimension and inspection planning, see Präzisions-Luftfahrtbearbeitung.
Keep material and inspection records aligned
Ensure records identify the ordered part, revision, material lot and required inspection results. Resolve deviations through the defined approval process.
