Complexity should be visible in the drawing
Complex CNC machining services may involve parts with multiple feature types, orientations or relationships that must be controlled together. Describe the part rather than relying on a broad complexity label. Identify interfaces, datums, holes, pockets, angled faces and any features that must remain aligned.
Separate requirements by operation
Provide the model and drawing revision, material grade and quantity. Mark critical dimensions and state whether milling, turning, Wire EDM or another process is specifically required or should be reviewed. List finish, deburring, coating, assembly and inspection requirements with the appropriate sequence.
Make the quote reviewable
Ask the supplier to state process assumptions, exclusions and inspection scope. Define which dimensions need reports and how the part will be accepted. Do not infer an exact tolerance, machine configuration, industry approval or schedule from the word complex.
For five-axis machining scope, see Services d'usinage CNC 5 axes. For Wire EDM requirements, see Wire EDM services.
Complex-part RFQ checklist
- Current CAD model and drawing revision
- Material, quantity and approved alternatives
- Datums, interfaces and critical feature relationships
- Process sequence, finish and inspection plan
- Quote assumptions, exclusions and packaging
Request a drawing review to confirm the route and acceptance scope for the actual part.
