Specify the titanium alloy, not only âtitaniumâ
Titanium alloys differ in composition, condition and application. The exact designation and material condition on the drawing should guide a machining request; a generic titanium label is not enough to confirm stock or acceptance requirements. If the grade is still open, identify the environment and function the part must serve.
Voir l' titanium material overview ou la Grade 5 titanium page for material information. This page addresses CNC part machining and project details.
Flag the features that drive the route
- Mark thin walls, deep cavities, narrow slots and restricted tool access.
- Identify datum relationships, critical holes, profiles and mating surfaces.
- State the drawing revision and whether a model or drawing controls each feature.
- List finish, heat treatment or other operations that affect final acceptance.
Titanium machining strategy depends on the particular alloy, stock condition, tool engagement, geometry and workholding. Generalized RPM or feed recommendations cannot replace a review of the actual job. We confirm the route against the part rather than promise a universal cycle or tolerance.
Agree on inspection before quoting
Call out the dimensions and geometric requirements that determine fit or function. If inspection reports are needed, list the characteristics and record format requested. If dimensions must be checked after a secondary operation, state that stage clearly.
For a quotation, send the CAD model, current drawing, titanium grade and condition, quantity, finish and delivery destination. We will review the requirements and identify any details that need confirmation.
