Release a complete part definition
Custom CNC manufacturing produces parts to a customer-defined design. Start with the controlled drawing and model, part number, material, quantity, finish, and revision. State which operations and documentation are required so the supplier can review the requested scope.
Resolve open questions before approval
During quote review, clarify material callouts, critical dimensions, datums, secondary operations, and inspection records. A supplier may raise manufacturability questions, while the customerâs design authority approves any changes to geometry, tolerance, or material.
Agree the manufacturing and acceptance scope
Confirm which machining and finishing operations are included, how critical features will be inspected, and what records accompany the order. List assumptions and exclusions in the quotation so the purchase documents match the intended part.
Control production changes
Use a released revision for each order. If an engineering change is approved, identify affected features, update the files, and confirm its impact on inspection, cost, and delivery. Do not mix superseded and current requirements in one release.
Close the loop after delivery
Review the supplied parts and records against the purchase scope. Document questions or nonconformances and obtain the responsible disposition before using or revising the design. For repeat work, confirm that quantities and requirements still match the prior agreement.
