Prototype machining starts with the part and its purpose
5 axis prototype machining may be appropriate for a part with angled or multi-face features that need to be evaluated in a physical sample. The correct process depends on the geometry, material and requirements shown in the drawing. A prototype request should state what the sample is intended to help review, such as fit, interface alignment or a design feature.
Control the drawing and validation scope
Provide the current CAD model and drawing revision, material grade and quantity. Identify datums, mating interfaces and critical dimensions. State the finish, deburring, coating and inspection evidence required. If the design is still changing, mark those items clearly rather than treating them as fixed production requirements.
Review a sample against agreed criteria
Define how the prototype will be checked and who will approve any deviation. A machined sample alone does not establish production qualification, clinical suitability or a guaranteed performance result. Keep acceptance tied to the agreed drawing and validation plan.

What to include in the RFQ
- CAD model and drawing revision
- Марка материала и количество образцов
- Prototype purpose and mating parts, if applicable
- Критические размеры, чистота обработки и метод контроля
- Known changes and approval requirements
Submit the complete scope for review. Feasibility, quote assumptions and timing should be confirmed for the specific part.
