Describe the turned features, not only the process
CNC lathe turning is used for parts with rotational features such as diameters, shoulders, grooves and bores. Provide the material, current model and drawing revision. Dimension the profile and identify datums and interfaces that control assembly.
Include thread and finish details
State the thread standard or other thread details required by the part. Mark critical fits, surface finish, deburring and any coating. Clarify whether dimensions are checked before or after finishing and identify all secondary operations.
Match inspection to the drawing
Specify units, tolerances, measurement points and report needs. Include the order quantity and acceptance conditions. If the drawing does not show how a feature relates to a datum, resolve it before quote approval.
