Define the intended use and the part
Performance auto parts machining is a sourcing topic for custom components with a stated vehicle or test use. The phrase does not establish that a part is race-proven, safe for road use or suitable for a particular engine. Provide the design and intended conditions for review.
Specify fit, material and interfaces
Identify mating parts, critical dimensions, fasteners, surface requirements and material grade. If the component faces defined loads, temperatures or fluid exposure, the design authority should provide those limits and the validation plan. General words such as high performance are not engineering requirements.
- Send the controlled model and drawing revision.
- State the prototype or production quantity.
- List critical fits, interfaces and inspection methods.
- Identify any testing or approval required before use.
- Clarify finishing, assembly and packaging scope.
Separate machining from vehicle validation
A machined part does not prove that a modified vehicle is safe, road legal or competition-ready. The vehicle builder or responsible engineer must validate the complete system and use case.

Confirm the release basis
Record the approved revision, material, inspection evidence and any use limitations before the part is installed or tested.
