Precision is defined on the drawing
Precision aerospace machining is not a universal micron value or a claim that a part is flight-safe. The released drawing defines dimensions, datums and tolerances based on function. Identify critical characteristics and separate them from reference dimensions.
Make requirements measurable
Show how the part is located, which dimensions affect interfaces and what finish is required. State material and quantity. If a feature is difficult to inspect, agree on the measurement method, report format and acceptance limits before production.
- Provide model and drawing revision.
- Mark critical features and datums.
- Specify material and any source documents.
- Define inspection method and report requirements.
- Identify program approvals and outside operations.
Review evidence for the quoted site
Ask the supplier to confirm feasibility and measurement scope for the actual geometry. Verify certificates or approvals separately for the entity and location. Avoid general claims such as zero defects, micron accuracy or mission-critical capability without current, relevant evidence.

Use the approved acceptance basis
Confirm that quote, production and receiving inspection use the same revision and criteria. Record approved deviations before shipment.
