Machine a prototype to answer a design question
Prototype machining services support review of a physical part made to a defined model and drawing. State whether the sample is intended for fit checking, assembly evaluation, a material review or another customer-defined purpose. The part geometry and acceptance plan determine the machining route.
Control interfaces and changes
Provide the current revision, material grade and sample quantity. Identify datums, mating faces and dimensions that control assembly. State finish, deburring and inspection needs. Mark which features are firm and which may change after the prototype review.
Use the sample to inform the next revision
Define who will inspect and approve the sample, how deviations are recorded and when a new revision is released. A prototype does not by itself prove production readiness or a guaranteed performance result.
For rapid prototype scope, see serviços de prototipagem rápida. For five-axis iteration, see 5-axis CNC prototyping.
Machined prototype checklist
- Current model, drawing and revision
- Material grade and sample quantity
- Fit-critical interfaces and datums
- Validation purpose, finish and inspection
- Approval, deviation and revision process
Evaluate the sample against the agreed purpose and release a controlled design update before ordering again.
