Fabrication Guidelines for Delrin AF

Distinctive Appearance:
Delrin AF is typically dark brown or chocolate in color due to the PTFE fibers. Tip: This makes it easily distinguishable from standard white or black POM during assembly and inspection.

Cutting Temperature:
While the PTFE fibers provide lubrication, heat buildup can still cause material softening. Tip: We use sharp tools and high-volume air blast or water-soluble coolant to keep the material rigid for accurate cutting.

Avoid Bonding:
Due to the high Teflon content, Delrin AF is almost impossible to glue or bond. Tip: Design your assembly using mechanical fasteners or interference (press) fits.

Environmental Stability:
Like all acetals, Delrin AF has very low moisture absorption. Tip: It maintains its precise dimensions even in submerged or high-humidity environments, unlike Nylon.
